About INAMOS

Integration of Newly Arrived Migrants through Organised Sport – From European Policy to Local Sports Club Practice’ (INAMOS) seeks to enhance long term social inclusion and equal opportunities in and through sport, focussing on the engagement of newly arrived migrants into local sports clubs. INAMOS contributes to this objective through a research based work programme which analyses the impact of policy and programme interventions and provides tangible and targeted evidence to aid the development of future strategies and activities. The long term social inclusion of newly arrived migrants is one of the biggest societal challenges facing the EU. Sport is recognised as playing a vital role in facilitating this process and providing a positive common ground for integration. However, a deeper understanding of the related policy implementation and the intended and unintended effects of such interventions is required.
